Following the successful completion of 3G spectrum auctions in the country, TRAI is planning to issue its recommendations on 4G technology by late 2010. The recommendation paper will cover all aspects including the spectrum band to be allotted, as well as the quantity and mode of spectrum allotment. The regulator also intends to bring out a consultation paper on pan-Indian broadband by July 2010 in order to address the issue of the slow uptake of broadband services in the country.
